Nike Unveils Marty McFly's Iconic Power-Lace Shoes On 'Back To The Future' Day

Nike Unveils Marty McFly's Iconic Power-Lace Shoes On 'Back To The Future' Day

The fans of Back to the Future has waited till October 21,  2015 to see
what would happen.  They have been wanting another back to the future movie! What happen to McFly’s children yet to be born?

Nike has released a shoe that is in the movie back to the future. It is quite different from the shoes in the movie because all the technology is inside the shoe.  The shoe glows like Marty McFly’s in the movie but it is better and it glows better. The shoe does its laces itself when it senses the feet.

This shoe is not the first of all. There was one in 2011 and it was also the same look and it was made by Nike. However it did not tie its laces by itself but the maker changed the features now in 2015.

The first pair of the Nike shoes went to the actor of Marty McFly. His real name was Michael J. Fox. The nike company is planning to release additional pairs in 2016, next year. If you will get the shoe it will be very expensive. The price will be around  $10,000 or probably more.

Guinea pig gang

Guinea pig gang
Guinea pig gang is about children with pet guinea pigs. The main characters are Ginny, Carla, Lisa and Pam. Lisa’s sister Jennifer has a pet guinea pig that she won’t share. Jennifer’s guinea pig’s name is Carla. Carla soon gets sick when Jennifer was about to enter the pet contest (welford show). All Jennifer wanted was the award.

My favourite part was when the guinea pig gang got together at Pam’s house. I liked it because Pam got to show the guinea pig’s to Lisa, Mandy and James.

I recommend this book 8-11 because it has some tricky words that 7       and below wouldn't  understand.

Contamination of water

Contamination of water

I wonder how it will be with contaminated water? If litter gets thrown into the drain it can cause death to sea creatures because the litter goes straight to the waterways and goes to the rivers, streams, oceans and the sea. Our families keep the finest trees with the finest fruit and veggies so we put pesticides. We put pesticides on so insects don’t go to the tree and eat it. When the rain comes down the pesticides come off and goes down to the drain and destroys the clean water.

Acid rain can be caused by water that is contaminated with litter. When the rain comes down and you get in the rain you might feel itchy because the water that went up to the clouds is dirty. If this keeps happening there might be diseases and viruses going around.

Contaminated water can break the food chain and can cause extinction. If the litter gets eaten by an animal the animal will choke and die. If whales sharks, fish etc. get extinct the food chain will be broken. The animals that eat fish and sharks will starve to death! Men and women will not get to get any more fish because the food chain will be broken.

If you don’t want to drink unclean water do not litter anywhere even if you are just in your garden.

ANZAC

ANZAC

ANZAC is an acronym that means Australian New Zealand Army Corp. ANZAC is an army of New Zealand and Australia and they fight together as one army. Some NZ and Australian men were young. Many of New Zealand and Australian  troops died in the war.
We commemorate ANZAC because the ANZAC reminds us about the war in Gallipoli, Turkey. We remember soldiers that died in that war. Australia and New Zealand is an army that fought with pride.
We commemorate ANZAC by wearing the red poppies. We also commemorate ANZAC by baking delicious ANZAC  biscuits. We can also go to Gallipoli and go to the place where the soldiers fought in.
The dawn celebration starts at 4:00 am- 6:00 am. When it is 5:30 am people are led to the combat memorial museum. When the ceremony is about to be finished people have some time to pray for the soldiers that died in the war.

God's great creation

 God’s great creation
O Gracious God
I can see the koru dancing and swaying in the wind.

I can feel your love for me like a koru taking care of a newly grown koru.

I can hear the sound of the snakes that you have created and it makes me think about the day you created the entire world.

God thank you for everything you have created in this magnificent world.

The first pineapple

The first pineapple
Long ago, there lived a girl named Pina. She was lazy and just played with her toys when the mother works very hard. The mother would tell to get the broom and she would say "but mom I can't find the broom."
The mom also said to get water from the river but she would say "but mom I can't find the bucket."
The mom got really angry at Pina so the mom growled at Pina. The mom said "you are such a lazy girl I hope you had lots of eyes. The next morning Pina's mom woke up and could not find Pina.
The mom looked and looked for Pina but Pina was nowhere to be found. The mom sat down on the steps of her house and saw a pineapple in the garden. The pineapple looked like it had lots of eyes.
The mom named the pineapple Pinya to remember Pina her daughter.

Peace poem

Peace poem
Peace is happiness from within.
Peace is as bright as a white dove.
Peace looks like a very silent home (place). Peace sounds like children having fun on the monkey bars and slide.
Peace feels like people hugging each other with happiness and joyfulness.

Te tahawai Marae

Te tahawai Marae
On the 19th of August I went to the Marae with the year 4 and room 5 people. Before the tangata whenua did the karanga, we all stood in front of the waharoa for a while waiting for the call.

After the tangata whenua welcomed us, the boys took their shoes off first. We took our shoes off because it was a sacred ground and our shoes were dirty. The boys sat at the front of the girls. The tangata whenua said a speech and then Joshua K said his mihi. After Joshua K said his mihi Joshua J said a speech. After he said his speech the room 5 and the year 4 people had to do the hongi or just shake hands with the tangata whenua. When we did the hongi, we washed our hands before we ate. The tangata whenua helped us to weave with paper and stick the top bit on.
The boys and I did the haka before we went back to school.

I had a really fun time there especially because the activities and the haka.

Finding China

Finding China

When I went to China I found a lot of new things there.

The school
In schools there are no doors in the toilet but there is only curtains. They use a sprinkler to wipe their bottom and wipe the toilet. Their school starts at 7.00am to 5.00pm. Most of the people at schools come from Shanghai. It was winter and it was freezing.

School work
They need to get ready before 6.30am. The people have 1 hour of homework each night. They studied Science, Maths, PE, Arts and lots more subjects. Each day they had to do a hundred push ups and a hundred sit ups the they had to run around the track fifty times.
Food

For breakfast some Chinese people have buns filled with some vegetables and some meat. For lunch some of them have rice with prawns or sometimes they have pork and some vegetables. Dinner they have soup  some rice, vegetables and meat. When they are cold they drink hot chocolate to get warmer. After they eat a meal they can have fruit like orange, banana or apple but only one each day.
